History
Stafford Motor Company was established in 1977 by Mr. Felix R. de Zoysa, the founder of Stafford group of companies. His entrepreneurial spirit and quest for a superior and affordable form of transport for Sri Lankans led him to introduce Honda products to Sri Lanka.Honda products are synonymous with quality and reliability and with the introduction of Honda motorcycles in the 1970s in Sri Lanka, the popularity of the Honda brand bolstered. The growth of our organization was propelled by the sales of motorcycles and amid the backdrop economic growth in the 1980s, Honda automobiles were launched in Sri Lanka in 1983.
Overview
Stafford Motor Company, which has its roots as a fledgling enterprise with 30 staff members is now a reputed organization in Sri Lanka with a workforce of nearly 500 employees.The cornerstone of our success is our people and their commitment to deliver excellence. For nearly four decades, we have consistently strived to provide an unparalleled level of service and surpass customers’ expectations.
As an initiative to empower the youth and to provide them with skills to reinforce their employment opportunities, a vocational training institute for motorcycle technicians was established in 2002.
In the past decade, we have launched initiatives which have been pivotal to meet the expectations of our stakeholders:
- Opening motorcycle sales and after sales facilities in Boralesgamuwa, Ja Ela and Batticaloa
- Expansion of the motorcycles’ island wide dealer network
- Opening a spare parts storage and distribution facility in Boralesgamuwa
We are proud of the distinction of being one of the oldest Honda distributorships amongst the network of worldwide Honda distributors. We as an organization are constantly challenging the status-quo to meet our stakeholders’ expectations and strive towards excellence
